The South
American Bridge Confederation and the Argentine Bridge
Association are pleased to announce that the 2010 III
South American Tran-National Festival will be held in
the city of Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires,
from May 1 to 8, hosted by the Sheraton Hotel.
Mar del Plata
is a favourite year-round resort to Argentines; 3
million people of all ages vacation there enjoying its
numerous tourist attractions as well as the Grand
Casino, dating back to 1938.
The local
cuisine is famous for its fish and seafood, as well as
superb beef obtained in near-by farms.
Bars by the
beach offer the delicious "clerico" and tasty 21-piece
hors d'oeuvres..
Mar del Plata
is 400 km away from the city of Buenos Aires, of very
easy access by air, sea and highway.
Tournaments:
Pairs: 5 sessions; Swiss Round Robin Teams: 12 rounds of
14 boards each;
Semi-finals in
3 categories: open, ladies and seniors; and Final Round
- both Trans-national events
starting at 11
AM.
Simultaneously
the South American Junior and Student Tournaments will
be played, both categories classifying 2 participants to
the forthcoming World Tournament to be held in
Philadelphia, U.S. In October 2010.
